Sports concentration

Sports concentration

The sports concentration program is a specialized educational curriculum : students are released from school to come and practice their sport. These courses aim to improve the participants' climbing performance by introducing them to better sports practices and training. The goal is to master basic techniques, develop advanced movement skills, and improve overall physical condition. Although the sessions are conducted in groups, the approach remains personalized and based on each individual's strengths and weaknesses.

Prerequisites:

  • Students wishing to enroll in the sports concentration program must have significant climbing experience and understand that it requires a commitment of at least one year.
  • They must have completed at least one session of youth climbing courses.
  • Selection criteria based on academic records are at the discretion of the CSS des Phares.

A pre-selection meeting, during which the student will climb under the observation of a coach, may be requested by writing to admin@rikibloc.com.

Registration:

Registrations for the sports concentration program are handled directly through school enrollment during the month of January preceding the program year. A selection process based on climbing aptitude and academic results is then carried out respectively by Riki Bloc and the CSS des Phares. A final list of accepted students is usually released in June. Payment, made shortly before the start of the sports concentration program, completes the registration.

School registrations are as follows:

  • Elementary level students must be enrolled at Grand-Pavoi School, St-Yves Pavilion.
  • Secondary level students in grades 1 or 2 must be enrolled at Langevin School.
  • Secondary level students in grades 3 to 5 must be enrolled at Paul-Hubert School.

For the 2024–2025 academic year, the cost of the secondary-level sports concentration program was $1,165 + tax. Riki Bloc may revise this price annually.
