The co-op
A co-op to develop climbing in Eastern Quebec
Riki Bloc aims to become the local reference in managing and promoting climbing in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region by offering high-quality products and services to its members and users. The co-op seeks to contribute its expertise to the sustainable social, economic, and environmental development of its community. Riki Bloc was the first bouldering center to open in Eastern Quebec and the first to adopt a cooperative model. This spirit can usually be felt from the first visit, as the atmosphere is genuinely friendly.
Our mission
In concrete terms, the co-op aims to be accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of climbing skill level or age.
This means offering the most flexible and appealing schedule possible. Created to meet a need in the Rimouski climbing community, the co-op enables both that community and the broader local population to regularly enjoy climbing or get introduced to this booming sport. The emphasis on supporting new clients—especially youth—is another reflection of our commitment to making the sport more accessible and democratic.
The co-op is also dedicated to developing climbing in the Bas-Saint-Laurent.
We take the time to inform our users about outdoor climbing sites in the region and the courses needed for safe practice.
To do this, we work closely with the regional climbing club “La Grimpe dans l’Est,” whose main mission is the development of climbing sites in the region.
Riki Bloc thus serves as the physical hub of climbing expertise in the Bas-Saint-Laurent.
